Raise the Bar Pole Vault Club is a registered USATF Club (38-481), established in 2011, for the sole purpose of increasing awareness, safety and sound fundamental training for pole vaulting in Northern Nevada. RTB is located within Jump N Shout Sports for Kids in Northwest Reno. The RTB program, consistent with all Jump N Shout programs, emphasizes correct technique in a “perfection before progression” manner. Our philosophy is that of “what is taught at the beginning stages sticks with you through the, more experienced, and, elite stages”. Negative muscle memory (bad habits) can be very hard to overcome. When establishing positive muscle memory (good habits) any athlete can, more easily, maximize their athletic experience. Our safe and well equipped facility allows for any pole vaulter to experience success at their personal comfort level. Our methodology is one of which has been used for years by Founder & Coach Randy Bryant, as learned and passed down from many successful pole vault coaches. While there are many different approaches to the same ideas, our methods are proven to safely and properly develop any vaulter.

Randy began pole vaulting at the young age of 5 and can still be spotted with a pole in his hands once in a great while! A three sport-athlete in high school, Randy experienced great success as a pole vaulter including HS State Champion and Record Holder in the State of Kansas, Junior College National Champion at Hutchinson Community College and All-Conference at the University of New Mexico. He has a high school PR of 15’3¼”, a college PR of 16’8″ and a lifetime PR of 17’4″. As a coach, Randy has experienced even more success coaching multiple State Champions from numerous States – most recently in 2013 when Raise the Bar athletes Alexis Romero and Zack Supple both won Div. I NIAA pole vault championships for their high schools. He has guided vaulters to titles such as AAU and USATF Jr. Olympic National Champion, Jr. College National Champion, NCAA All-Conference and NCAA All-American. His biggest coaching thrill came when he accompanied his longtime friend and athlete, Simon Arkell, to the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games as he represented Australia. Randy and his wife JoAnn are the owners of Jump-N-Shout Sports for Kids where Raise the Bar Pole Vautling can be found.
